Kevin Harvick captures 50th race as NASCAR returns in the Real Heros 400

Chris's Corner

NASCAR returned to the speedway Sunday in Darlington and Kevin Harvick captured his 50th career race during the “Real Heros 400, dedicated to the heroes of this coronavirus.”

NASCAR had a 10-week layoff due to the coronavirus epidemic suspending all sports, but started back up without fans thanks to official approval in both South Carolina and North Carolina, this, according to ESPN.

This was the first of seven races over the next 11 days in these two states and NASCAR hopes to schedule lots of more races without fans in the stands in the South per state official approval.

According to ESPN, the names of health care workers across the country were substituted for the drivers’ name on each car (40 total). Harvick’s car honored Dr. Joshua Hudges, an emergency medicine physician in the Charlotte area.
