It looks like Joe Flacco has found his next home inkined a one-year, $1.5 million dollar deal with the New York Jets Friday evening.
The former Super Bowl Champion last played for the Denver Broncos appearing in eight games completing 65% of his passes for 1822 yards with six touchdowns and five interceptions.
According to ESPN, the 35-year-old underwent neck surgery to repair a herniated disk and won’t be clear for contact until late August or early September.
The Jets already have their starting “believed franchise” quarterback in Sam Darnold so Flacco would primarily serve as a backup granted he makes a full recovery and lucky for him could make up to $3 million with incentives.
New York has had a history of struggling when Sam Darnold can’t start going 0-6, according to ESPN.
Darnold has missed six games in the last two seasons so having a player in Joe Flaco who is a career 98-73 in his career, according to Pro-Football Reference.
