On Wednesday a single Jet torpedoed in East Rutherford New Jersey as longtime owner, Woody Johnson is under investigation by a State Department watchdog following allegations that he made racist and sexist comments while serving as an ambassador to the United Kingdom.
According to ESPN, Johnson made racist comments about Black Men and questioned the purpose of Black History Month citing Black fathers don’t remain with their families calling it a “real challenge.”
Sources also reported that while in the embassy, Johnson would comment on women’s appearances as well as holding male-only events to purposefully shut out female diplomats.
Jets star safety Jamal Adams tweeted his support for the investigation stating, “We NEED the right people on top. Wrong is wrong.”
Johnson has owned the team since 2000.
