In a random move, Hall-of-Fame cornerback Deon Sanders is finalizing a deal to become Jackson State University’s new head football coach Thursday.
According to ESPN, the university and Sanders still have to work out contractual details since Sanders is currently under contract with Under Armour while Jackson State is a Nike school.
Sanders recently joined Barstool Sports after leaving the NFL Network and was most recently an offensive coordinator at his alma mater Trinity Christian High School in Cedar Hill Texas where his son, Shedeur plays quarterback.
Sanders has no prior coaching experience at the professional or collegiate level but is arguably the best cornerback of all-time so his credentials need any further introduction.
JSU went 4-8 last season and are currently scheduled to play in the Spring of next year.
