J.R. Smith beats up man who allegedly damaged his vehicle during LA protests

Chris's Corner

Former NBA guard J.R. Smith is in the news for the wrong reasons again.

The 34-year-old was seen in a video published by TMZ sports on Sunday beating up a man who allegedly damaged his truck during the Los Angeles protests over the death of George Floyd.

According to ESPN, Smith is seen kicking the man on the ground and punching him when he gets up before the man runs away.

A video was posted by Smith exemplified a man breaking a window on Smith’s vehicle via a video and denounced some of the vandalism and looting that have been a part of some of the protests in major cities around the U.S. including Los Angeles.

The 15-year NBA veteran was last seen playing 11 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2018. Smith has yet to play for an NBA team prior to the season being suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus.

These protests/riots are a result of George Floyd, an African-American male dying last week in Minneapolis after a police officer Derek Chauvin, a white male knelt on him for over eight minutes during a traffic stop.
