Indianapolis Colts took a major hit Monday losing running back Marlon Mack suffering a season-ending Achilles injury in Sunday’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The former South Florida Bull suffered the injury after catching a ball underneath in the second quarter to which he immediately grabbed his ankle, got up and took off his helmet before waving assistance to the Colts sideline.
According to ESPN, Mack’s injury comes in the final year of his contract and Indianapolis did not offer him a contract extension during the off-season.
Fortunately for the Colts, they have immense depth with youngsters Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins and rookie selection Wisconsin stud Jonathan Taylor to play for Indianapolis moving forward.
As for Mack, his future in Indy certainly is unknown but he could be a viable asset to many other squads rushing for 2,383 yards off 4.4-yards-per-carry with 20 touchdowns in three seasons.
