In a shocking move the Indiana Pacers have relieved Nate McMillan of his heading coaching duties Wednesday.
According to ESPN, the move comes after the Pacers reworked the final year of McMillan’s contract adding a one-year extension earlier this month.
In four seasons as the Pacers coach, McMillan had a 183-136 record including a 3-16 record in the postseason.
Indiana has not reached the second round of the playoffs since 2013 so the Pacers are looking for a more playoff proven coach with Houston Rockets Mike D’Antoni being the primary target of the Pacers next ball coach.
