Deshaun Watson is getting PAID as the Houston Texans superstar has agreed to a four-year, $160 million dollar extension Saturday.
According to ESPN, Watson will make $39 million per year in base salary only trailing Patrick Mahomes mammoth deal with the Chiefs as the second-highest in NFL history.
The 24-year-old has been the do-it-all player for the Texans accounting for a large majority of their offense and having an exceptional 2019 season throwing for 3,852 yards with 26 touchdowns to 12 interceptions and completing 67% of his passes.
The former Clemson Tiger led Houston to a 10-6 record in the muddled AFC South and has a 22-11 record with two AFC South titles in his first two seasons at the helm.
While the Texans have made a disaster of an organization, this is one move Houston fans and the organization can be proud of for the future.
