The Seahawks continued to bolster their depth chart at running back signing journeyman Carlos Hyde to a one-year deal Friday evening.
The 30-year-old had a breakout season with the Texans rushing for a career-high 1,070 yards and six touchdowns in 16 games, according to Pro-Football Reference.
Seattle has a loaded backfield with the dynamic duo of Chris Carson and Rashad Penny but with both of them coming back from season-ending injuries, Hyde could have an opportunity to be an integral part of the Hawks offense next season.
There were rumors that the Seahawks were considering the likes of former Falcon’ Devonta Freeman and Seattle great Marshawn Lynch but found Hyde to be the best and rightly-timed selection.
Hyde has worn his share of different helmets playing for the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans over the last five seasons, according to ESPN.
According to Pro-Football Reference, Hyde has 4,370 and 32 touchdowns in seven career seasons.
