A St. Louis Cardinals legend has fallen as pitcher Bob Gibson passed away at age 84.
The Omaha, Nebraska native played all of his 17 MLB seasons with the Cardinals from 1950-75.
According to ESPN, Gibson has been battling pancreatic cancer since July of 2019.
Arguably one of the greatest pitchers of all-time, the nine-time All-Star and two-time World Series Champion earned 251 wins with a 2.91 ERA winning 59% of the games he played, according to Pro-Baseball Reference.
A two-time Cy Young Winner, Gibson was also a tremendous hitter raking in 24 home runs while also earning nine-gold gloves wins for his tremendous hands.
The Hall-of-Famer simply could do it all averaging 19-wins-per-season and he will surely be missed but will hopefully have a peaceful stay in heaven.
