The Jacksonville Jaguars added two former players to their staff Friday in Denard Robinson as an offensive quality control coach and Tony Gilbert as an assistant linebackers coach.
Robinson, the Deerfield Beach, Florida native was taken in the fifth round in the 2013 NFL draft out of Michigan.While he didn’t exactly stand out on the Jaguars he surely did as a Wolverine.
Robinson was one of the most dynamic collegiate football players in the last decade both running and passing earning him two-time All Big-10 nods as well as being the 2010 Big-10 offensive player of the year, according to ESPN.
As for Gilbert, the former University of Georgia product was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2003 draft before swiftly making his way to the Jaguars defense from 2003-06, according to CBS sports.
He retired from the league in 2010 and held many assistant college football positions with his most recent being at the University of Central Florida as their defensive quality control coach.
For his career, the linebacker had 47 tackles in five seasons largely as a rotational player.
