Former Los Angeles Dodgers star Carl Crawford has been arrested and accused of assaulting his former girlfriend during a dispute.
According to ESPN, the 38-year-old has an arrest filed Wednesday by Houston police stating that Crawford went to the home of Gabriele Washington on May 8th with a handgun that was unloaded in her presence while questioning her about her dating relationship.
According to Washington, Crawford pushed her to the floor, slammed her head against the wall and choked her. Crawford was freed on $50,000 bond.
When his one-year-daughter woke up Washington called the police causing Crawford to flee but did send threatening text messages to her, according to the affidavit.
This incident happened a week after a 5-year boy and woman drowned in the backyard of Crawford’s Houston home, according to ESPN.
The former outfielder is a four-time MLB All-Star and last played in 2016 with the Dodgers.
