A former Indiana University football player was killed during the Indianapolis protests/riots last weekend.
Chris Beaty, a 38-year-old, who played for the Hoosiers from 2000-04 suffered multiple gunshot wounds in a shooting before Midnight in downtown Indianapolis, according to Wave 3 News. He was pronounced dead on the scene according to police reports.
Indiana Head Football Coach Tom Allen released a statement as well as the University as a whole sending their heartfelt condolences for the senseless violence occurring in the aftermath of the George Floyd murder.
These protests/riots/deaths are a result of George Floyd, an African-American male dying last week in Minneapolis after a police officer Derek Chauvin, a white male knelt on him for over eight minutes during a traffic stop.
