Former coach Dan Majerle sues GCU for dismissal

Former head coach Dan Majerle has sued Grand Canyon University for a breach of contract Monday.

The former NBA All-Star has the university for reportedly not giving a reason for his termination and not providing severance pay, according to ESPN. GCU said it has yet to receive a copy of the lawsuit but provided no further commenting outside of that.

The Traverse City, Mich. native spent seven seasons as the Antelope’s coach going (136-89) reaching the CIT three times and the CBI twice, according to Basketball-Reference.

As a player, he was named an NBA All-Star three times (‘92,’93,’95) with the Phoenix Suns.
