FBS Independent UMass to cancel Fall sports amid coronavirus concerns

Another school is cancelling their fall season as FBS independent UMass announced Tuesday their fall sports are over before they began.

According to ESPN, the Minute Men held a team meeting Tuesday morning to inform players of the decision though accordion to UMass head coach Walt Bell “heartbreaking,” absolutely necessary according to AD Ryan Bamford as “the risk was too great.”

With the decision, UMass joined the likes of the Mountain West, Pac-12, Big-Ten and UConn as conferences and teams electing to cancel the Fall season due to coronavirus concerns.
