The hits just keep coming for the Atlanta Falcons as safety Damontae Kazee will miss the rest of the 2020 season with a torn achilles.
According to ESPN, the injury occured in the second quarter of the Falcons 30-16 loss to the Green Bay Packers where Kazee was ultimately carted off the field. He fell to the ground clutching his leg in obvious pain before the training staff looked at him and had to cart him off.
The Falcons have sustained back-breaking injuries to their secondary already down two safeties in Keanu Neal (hamstring injury) and Ricardo Allen (hyperextended elbow) and now with Kazee out for the season, Atlanta’s depth will certainly be tested moving forward.
Kazee, a fifth round pick out of San Diego State in the 2017 NFL Draft tied with two other players with seven interceptions in 2018.
For his career, the 27-year-old has 199 tackles with 10 interceptions with six forced fumbles and 13 passes defended in his four seasons as a pro.
