Major development in the death of former Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs as Eric Kay, the former director of communications for Los Angeles was charged by the DEA with illegally supplying drugs to Skaggs resulting in his tragic death in Texas last year.
According to ESPN, the 27-year-old was found dead on July 1st, 2019, after police responded to a report of an unconscious man in a hotel room in Southlake, Texas. He was pronounced dead at the scene after choking on his vomit with a toxic mix of alcohol and powerful painkillers.
Kay was arrested in Fort Worth, Texas, being charged with illegal possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
According to the criminal complaint affidavit, Skaggs sent text messages to Kay requesting him to deliver pills to his hotel room.
Kay did just that and now a young rising pitcher is dead, finding oxycodone, fentanyl and a BAC (blood-alcohol level) of 0.122% limit from the autopsy report.
