Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic announced Tuesday he tested positive for coronavirus in Serbia last week. The positive test has temporarily delayed Jokic’s return to the U.S.
According to ESPN, Jokic was asymptomatic and is expected to return to Denver within a week. He would be eligible to return if he receives two negative tests in Serbia before receiving clearance to travel. Once he receives clearance to travel he will then undergo a cardiac screening to test negative again for the virus.
Jokic reportedly spent time with tennis star Novak Djokovic (who just tested positive for the virus) during a recent event in Belgrade.
The Nuggets are the third season in the Western Conference where Jokic is averaging 20.2-points, 10.2-rebounds and 6.9-assists this season.
