Good news for Colin Kaepernick is a rarity but this is certainly one of them the former NFL starter will be inducted to the University of Nevada Athletics Hall of Fame Friday.
According to Fox News, Kaepernick played four years at Nevada before heading to the NFL.
He was nothing short of a stud while with the Wolfpack airing out 10,098 passing yards and 82 touchdown passes as well as rushing for 4,112 yards and another 59 touchdowns over the course of his collegiate career.
The 32-year-old was a two-time WAC conference offensive player-of-the-year leading Nevada to a 34-19 record including four Bowl appearances and a Bowl win in 2010.
His accolades landed him in the NFL being drafted in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft to the San Francisco 49ers.
From there, Kaepernick appeared in 58 games throwing for 12,271 yards with 72 touchdowns to 30 interceptions completing just 59% but did experience playoff success going (6-6) in 12 appearances including a Super Bowl run in 2012.
Now the injury-riddled quarterback is currency blackballed from the NFL but at least will be a collegiate Hall-of-Famer and that is good news.
