The Cleveland Browns will be without a major piece of their offense for several weeks as starting running back Nick Chubb suffered an MCL injury to his right knee during a 49-28 win over the Cowboys in Dallas Sunday.
According to ESPN, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said the superstar running back will be placed in the injured reserve and is expected to miss “several weeks.”
The injury occured in the first quarter of Cleveland’s win when Chubb was pass-protecting Baker Bayfield and defensive lineman Trysten Hill rolled over his knee from behind.
The former Georgia Bulldog Pro-Bowler was fourth in the NFL in rushing but will not be sorely missed as backup Kareem Hunt has played excellent rushing for 275 yards and three touchdowns through four games and backup D’Ernest Johnson rushed for 95 yards off 13 carries in yesterday’s tilt.
The (3-1) Browns will take on Phillip Rivers and the (3-1) Colts in Cleveland on Sunday.
