Cleveland Browns rookie safety Grant Delpit suffers season-ending achilles tear

Chris's Corner

The Cleveland Browns suffered a big injury in their secondary as rookie safety Grant Delpit tore his achilles tendon and will undergo season-ending surgery this week.

According to ESPN, the second-round pick from the national champion LSU Tigers was very realistically competing for a starting job in the Browns secondary but the hits for Cleveland just keep coming as backup Greedy Williams left the Monday practice early with a shoulder injury leaving the Browns secondary pencil thin.

This is the third injury to the Browns secondary with cornerback Kevin Johnson suffering a lacerated liver when tight end Harrison Bryant fell on his abdomen last Wednesday.

Other Cleveland injuries include: linebacker Mack Wilson suffering a hyper-extended knee, superstar running back Nick Chubb suffered a concussion and starting center JC Tretter has yet to practice because of a knee injury.

The biggest things the Browns will need to do moving forward is maybe lighten the practices so Cleveland can enter the season healthy.
