The reigning Super Bowl Champs took a blow on the offensive line as rookie offensive tackle Lucas Niang announced Friday he is opting out of the 2020 season.
According to Arrowhead Pride, 21-year-old Niang became the first rookie of the 2020 NFL draft class to decide to forgo the 2020 season amid coronavirus concerns.
With the announcement, the former TCU Horned Frog became the third Chief joining Laurent Duvernay-Tardiff (Offensive Line) and Damien Williams (Running Back) as Kansas City members forgoing this season and the 61st total player not playing in 2020.
Players have until 3 p.m. to make a decision to opt out or play the 2020 season.
