One of the biggest names in the NFL has tested positive for the coronavirus as superstar Patriots quarterback Cam Newton now has the deadly virus.
According to ESPN, several additional players, coaches and staff were tested that were in contact with Newton but all tested negative fortunately.
As for the Chiefs, Kansas City practice squad quarterback Jordan Ta'amu has also tested positive for the virus but the team did not list any other players, coaches or staff that have tested positive as of yet.
These announcements forced the NFL to suspend the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots to be postponed until at least this Tuesday.
When played on Tuesday, Newton will not be available for the Patriots as he must be quarantined for at least 10-14 days following league protocols then test negative and pass all the necessary tests before safely returning for the team.
That means that backup veteran Brian Hoyer will likely get the start: this is a huge huge loss for the Patriots as Newton has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league accounting for 714 pass yards, 149 rush yards and six total touchdowns for the (2-1) Pats.
We, at Chris’s Corner, hope for a speedy recovery for all the players who have tested positive for the deadly virus over the last few weeks.
