Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Bashaud Breeland was arrested on numerous charges Tuesday in York County, South Carolina.
Breeland was released from jail late Tuesday night on $2,362.50 bond. According to the Sheriff's arrest report, the 28-year-old faced charges of resisting arrest, having alcohol (with a broken seal) in a motor vehicle, marijuana possession and driving without a license.
Police found text messages on Breeland’s phone implicating communications about drug transactions to which he informed the officer he liked to smoke marijuana and waas a big enthusiast.
The Chiefs are aware of the situation but had no comment to the media. After four seasons with the Packers, one with the Redskins, Breeland originally joined the Chiefs on a one-year contract which led to a Super Bowl Championship. He resigned under a one year-contract with the World Champs this off-season.
