The Chiefs took two defensive hits this week as starting cornerback Bashaun Breeland and defensive lineman Mike Pennel are both facing four-game suspensions for violating the NFL substance-abuse policy.
According to ESPN, Breeland and Pennel are expected to miss games against the Texans, Chargers, Ravens and Patriots the coming season.
Of course, three of those teams made the playoffs and assume to be AFC contenders so these pieces will be sorely missed putting the onus of rookies L’Jarius Sneed, Mike Danna, Thakarius Keyes and Khalen Saunders to step up for an improving but still patchy Kansas City defense.
