Joey Bosa is cashing in as he and the Chargers agreed on a five-year, $135-million extension Tuesday evening.
According to ESPN, Bosa’s contract includes $78 million guaranteed at signing and $102 million guaranteed making him the highest paid defensive player in NFL history.
The deal is also the biggest deal in Chargers history and the first contract to surpass $100 million for Los Angeles.
The former third-overall pick out of Ohio State in the 2016 NFL draft has been nothing short of a stud surpassing 40 career sacks in four seasons with 11.5 in 2019 while with the Bolts and looks to be a pinnacle piece of Los Angeles’ defense over the next six years.
