The Brooklyn Nets shocked the NBA world announcing Steve Nash as their next head coach Thursday.
According to ESPN, the Hall of Fame guard has signed a four-year deal with the Nets despite having no prior coaching experience; but Brooklyn owner Joe Tsai and general manager Sean Marks had been aggressively recruiting Nash to the Nets for quite some time.
The 46-year-old former Phoenix Suns legend brings loads of leadership and intangibles to an intriguing Nets being himself a two time NBA MVP and 8-time league All-Star.
This is huge as the Nets two superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving need a steady encouraging hand being as mentally soft and sometimes ludacris as they can be.
The 46-year-old will have quite a “Robin,” pairing as Brooklyn will be retaining Jacque Vaughn as the lead assistant coach and the highest paid one now at that additionally.
Nash could potentially join a list of coaches that include: Nick Nurse (Raptors), Ty Lue (Cavs) and Steve Kerr (Warrior) as rookie head coaches to win a championship if everyone comes back healthy mentally and physically for this loaded Nets squad.
