Big 12, ACC, SEC Conferences to move forward playing Fall sports

Chris's Corner

Some things change and some things do not, the Big 12, ACC and SEC also released statements Wednesday that they all will be moving forward with Fall sports and specifically college football.

According to ESPN, the conference’s board of directors met for more than an hour on Tuesday to discuss the future of their conference amidst the Pac-12, Mountain West and Big Ten’s decision to postpone Fall sports to the Spring.

The Big 12 decided Wednesday they will move forward with a 9+1 schedule that will feature nine in-conference games with one out of conference matchup for the 2020 Fall season. The conference will also “enhance COVID-19 testing,” including up to three tests per week.

As for the ACC and SEC, they are standing with The Big 12 in going forward with their conference schedules after each conference consulting with their panel of medical experts.

Out of the Power Five powerhouses, the Sun Belt would likely move forward with their Fall sports season as well joining the likes of those three conferences playing the 2020 college football abridged season.
