The Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys will be without their boys in the middle as the Bengals/ D.J. Reader and Cowboys Trysten Hill are both out for the season with injuries.
Reader suffered a left quad injury in the Bengal’s 27-3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens after he tackled Baltimore’s Gus Edwards after a three-year gain. Reader was then carted off the field with nine minutes left in the Third quarter and did not return since.
The fifth year player was part of the Bengals key additions the previous off-season signing him to a four-year, $53 million dollar deal.
In his first four games as a Bengal, Reader had 18 total tackles. He will likely be replaced by Xavier Williams who was freshly signed last season.
As for the Cowboys their defensive woes continue as d-tackle Trysten Hill suffered a torn ACL in Dallas’s 37-34 victory over the Giants.
Hill suffered the injury in the third quarter as he approached New York’s Daniel Jones before falling awkwardly.
He is most notably known for being a dirty player trying to injure Seattle’s Chris Carson among others this season and notched 14 tackles, a tackle-for-loss and five quarterback pressures during the 2020 season before being shelved.
Tackles Dontari Poe, Antwaun Woods and rookie selection Neville Gallimore will likely fill the void.
