Well it was bound to happen, the Atlanta Falcons announced rookie cornerback AJ Terrell has tested positive for the coronavirus and has now been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
According to NFL.com, he is the first active player to test positive for the virus during the 2020 season.
The Falcons first-round pick out of Clemson positive test came overnight therefore ruling the 22-year-old for Atlanta’s home game against Mitch Trubisky and the Chicago Bears.
Falcons head coach Dan Quinn announced cornerbacks Delrick Abrams and Tyler Hall were elevated from the practice squad to the 53-man roster and surely will have a say in who’s the starter for tomorrow’s game.
As for Terrell, per COVID-19 protocols he will have to isolate himself for 14 days and test negative for the virus before successfully returning to the team.
