The Arizona Cardinals are making a big investment in a young budding star signing Budda Baker to a four-year, $59 million dollar extension Tuesday.
According to ESPN, the deal now makes the Cards 2017 second-round pick the highest paid safety in the NFL. The deal will average $14.75 million per year according to contract details.
The 24-year-old two-time Pro Bowler recorded 147 tackles leading the NFL with 104 solo tackles and 33 quarterback pressures both are tops since entering the league.
The Cardinals have many holes both offensively and defensively but locking up their best defensive secondary player since the Honey Badger was a key for Arizona this off-season.
