All-Pro G Larry Warford released by Saints Friday

Chris's Corner

Larry Warford was released by the New Orleans Saints Friday. The move, at first glance, was a bit shocking as the 6-foot-3, 317-pound former Kentucky Wildcat has made three consecutive Pro Bowl Appearances with the Saints.

With that release, New Orleans saves over $7 million in salary cap space. The Saints drafted G/C Casar Ruiz and re-signed Andrus Peat and believe the two combined with second-year pro Erik McCoy will be enough to fortify a revamped offensive line.

The 28-year-old has started 101 regular season games (44 over the past three years) including five playoff games with New Orleans, according to ESPN.

Warford will likely have many suitors this off-season and joins a club of players like: Logan Ryan, Jadeveon Clowney, Jason Peters, Carlos Hyde, etc. that are still trying to find NFL homes.
