Tough news for Alabama as their star receiver Jaylen Waddle will miss the remainder of the season with a high ankle break
According to Yahoo Sports, the Crimson Tide lost the junior receiver while returning the opening kickoff versus the Tennessee Vols in Neyland Stadium Saturday.
The 21-year-old sustained the injury while running toward the sideline when his right foot got trapped as he was being tackled and his ankle got turned awkwardly.
He then proceeded to limp over the Crimson Tide sideline before eventually being carried off on an injury cart.
This is a huge loss for Bama as Waddle was an All-American returner in 2019 and one of the most dynamic receivers in the country hauling in 557 yards in four games as well as accounting for 24 of the Crimson Tide's total points this season.
He will likely forgo his senior season to enter the 2020-21 NFL Draft as he is a round 1-3 pick.
The 5-0 Tide take on the 1-3 Mississippi State Bulldogs in Tuscaloosa this Saturday Night.
