Thursday bore bad news as it appears the Philadelphia 76ers championship hopes are all but gone as forward Ben Simmons will be out indefinitely after suffering a partial left knee dislocation.
According to ESPN, Simmons suffered the injury during the third quarter of eventual 107-98 victory over the Washington Wizards Wednesday.
Outside of Joel Embiid, the 6-10, 240-pound, Aussie was the x-factor to this squad averaging 16-points, 7.8-boards and 8-assists while shooting 58% from the field in fifty-seven games played.
The former LSU Tiger was the biggest piece in the Sixers offense finishing first on the team in assists, second in rebounds and third in points scored so despite Philly being third in the Eastern Conference their likelihood at any post-season success has gone out the window so long as Simmons injury remains definite.
