The University of Central Florida will be without a chunk of their football team as ten players are opting out of the 2020 season due to coronavirus concerns Wednesday.

According to ESPN, the list of opt-outs include cornerback Tay Gowan, defensive tackle Kalia Davis and quarterback Darriel Mack Jr. all played significant time a season ago.

The list also includes five reserve lineman and two more cornerbacks according to head coach Josh Huepel.

The Golden Knights were slated to be the American Athletic Conference favorite ahead of the 2019-2020 season receiving 10 out of the 20 first-place votes and are the No. 21st-ranked team in ESPN’s Top 25 college football rankings.
